Whether it was wearing the uniform of the Bishop Gorman Gaels, the Nebraska Cornhuskers or various NFL teams including the Oakland Raiders, David Humm was a superstar.
Arguably the best high school football player in the Las Vegas area, Humm was an All-American at Nebraska and Heisman Trophy candidate who led the Huskers to win in the Orange, Cotton and Sugar Bowls and played in the same backfield with Walter Payton in the Senior Bowl.
He spent 10 years in the NFL with four different teams and was on a pair of Super Bowl winning teams. Humm retired from the NFL in 1985, but has remained active in the community with his work for several local charities while battling Multiple Sclerosis.
Humm passed away on March 27, 2018.
