Jim Lambright
Brad Rothermel served as athletic director at UNLV during the school's most successful sports decade.
From 1981-91, Rothermel oversaw a department that made its place on the national sports stage.
He directed the UNLV Athletic Department during the "glory days" when every program was competitive on a national level. It culminated with Jerry Tarkanian's Runnin' Rebels basketball team capturing the 1990 NCAA National Championship with a 107-73 victory over Duke on April 2, 1990.
After leaving his post as UNLV AD, Rothermel spent nine years as a professor at UNLV and spent two seasons as the chief executive of the Las Vegas Bandits of the USBL.
Claim to Fame: During his tenure as the UNLV director of athletics, his teams won 33 conference titles and the 1990 NCAA Basketball Championship.
