Lee White was named one of the top 10 running backs in the nation by Sports Illustrated in 1966. White was named honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press in 1966, when he scored 15 touchdowns and gained 1,034 yards for Weber state. White holds the record at Weber State for all-time rushing yards. He was all-Big Sky selection for three straight years.
White was a first-round selection by the New York Jets in 1969. He was a member of the New York Jets Super Bowl Championship team in 1969, where he had 98 carries in two seasons for 302 yards and averaged 3.1 yards per carry.
Long before his success in college and in the NFL, White was a standout prep athlete at Las Vegas High School. During prep career for the Wildcats, he was named to numerous All-State teams.
